Libre Office (Open Office) - How do I set up Libre Office for TPS?
To minimize reading and editing compatibility problems between teacher and students across operating systems and word processors, TPS supports only the Word .doc/.docx format for editable word processing files. TPS supports Libre Office Writer as a word processor that works on Windows and Mac, and produces universally-readable and editable .doc/.docx files. To make it easier to produce .doc/.docx files in Libre Office, we recommend the following settings:

  • Options --> Preferences --> Load/Save --> General --> select "Text Document" from the "Document Type" drop-down --> select "Word 2007-2019 (*.docx)" from the "Aways save as" drop-down --> click Apply and OK
  • When you save a document, make sure "Automatic file name extension" is checked.
