Occasionally, when upgrading from GP3 to GP4, users may encounter an installation failure that shuts down the install process and restarts your computer.
You may also get a 'presenter module install failed. try again?' message.
Note: | You must have administrator rights to install the presenter module on a PC. |
| To find out if you have administrator rights, see this article. |
Follow these steps to correct the problem:
- Delete this directory from the hard drive C:\Program Files\Common Files\GatherWorks
- Right click on "My Computer" (found on the desktop or in the Start menu) and select "Properties" (The System Properties dialog will open).
- Select the "Hardware" tab on the dialog and then click the "Device Manager" button.
- Expand the "Display Adapters" by clicking on the plus sign in front of it.
- If you see "GatherWorks, Inc. Display Driver" in the list, right click on it and select "Uninstall" (you can close the System Properties dialog after this step).
- From your "Control Panel", select "Add or Remove Programs"
- Uninstall these applications if you have them installed:
-OmniViewer
-OmniPresenter
-OmniView
-OmniView Presenter Module
- Reboot your PC.
- Open the GP4 application and check the Tools menu for the 'Load Presenter Module' option.
- If the option is in the menu, select it and the module should install (it WILL NOT be there in the majority of the cases).
- Reboot your PC again and you are ready to present using GP4.
