This article is intended for teachers and students that are taking classes from different schools that use the GP4 and/or GP5 software and have different software requirements.

Given the multi-level use of the system with distinct software requirements, both GP4 and GP5 should be installed on the same computer and multiple profiles set up to enable the user to switch between the different schools and logins. See below for instructions.

Important: Adding or switching profiles must be done in the GP5 software when using both GP4 and GP5 on the same computer.
If you are taking a class (TPS) that requires GP5 and the next class (Learning Co-op) will require the use of GP4, switch to the Learning Co-op profile after the TPS class is finished by selecting the Co-op profile in GP5 before exiting or quitting GP5. That way when GP4 opens it will validate using the Co-Op profile information.
If GP5 was left with the TPS profile selected when it was last closed, the TPS profile will be used to validate GP4 and you may get a 'Required Upgrade' message from GP5.

If you are attending or teaching online classes at The Potter's School, you must use GP5 (version 5) starting with the 2011-2012 school year.

For attending or teaching online classes at other schools, you must use GP4 (version 4).

2. Open the setup-gp4 file you downloaded.
   
3. Drag and drop gp4 into your Applications folder.
   
4. Download GP5 from this page: http://registration.pottersschool.org/support
5. Open the setup-gp5 file you downloaded.
   
6. Drag and drop gp5 into your Applications folder.

2. Install the setup-gp4 file you downloaded.
   
3. Exit and close gp4 completely (no taskbar icon).
   
4. Go to the C:\Program Files\GatherWorks\ --OR-- C:\Program Files (x86)\GatherWorks\ folder on your hard drive.
   
5. Rename the OmniView4 folder to OmniView4-gp4.
   
6. Download GP5 from this page: http://registration.pottersschool.org/support
7. Install the setup-gp5 file you downloaded.

1. Quit gp4 if open.
   
2. Open gp5 in your Applications folder.
   
3. Go to the gp5 menu and choose Preferences...
4. Go to the Account Setup tab in Preferences.
   
5. Check Manage Multiple Login Profiles and click Yes to continue.
   
6. Click New to create a new profile. This will create a new profile for non-TPS classes.
   
7. Change My Display Name as needed or required by the non-TPS school and click OK.

2. Open GP5 on your desktop.
   
3. Go to the Tools menu and choose Preferences.
   
4. Go to the Account Setup tab in Preferences.
   
5. Check Manage Multiple Login Profiles and click Yes to continue.
   
6. Click New to create a new profile. This will create a new profile for non-TPS classes.
   
7. Change My Display Name as needed or required by the non-TPS school and click OK.

Note: It is important that you use GP5 to set the desired profile to use in GP4 before GP4 is opened to join a class.
Opening GP4 after a GP5 profile was the last selected profile may result in erroneous 'Required Update' messages. If this occurs, Do Not do the Upgrade! Cancel any of those messages and Quit/Exit GP4, re-open GP5 and change the profile to the one required for the GP4 classes. Then Quit/Exit GP5 and then re-open GP4 and join the class that requires GP4 to join.
